Harrogate, Tenn. - The Tornados fell to conference opponent Lincoln Memorial Saturday afternoon. Dayshalee Salaman led the Railsplitters with 16 points and 10 assists, while Brianna Worley scored 13 points, pulled down four rebounds, added two assists, and a bloc ked shot for the Tornados who lost 74-56.
LMU improves to 4-9 overall and an even 2-2 in the conference while the Tornados fall to 5-7 overall and 0-4 in the conference.
LMU led by as many as 15 in the first half before the Tornados, led by Worley’s ten first half points, cut the lead to 31-29 with 1:29 left in the first. Lincoln Memorial ended the half on a 6-1 run going into the locker room up on the Tornados 37-30.
Amanda Whitaker scored seven points in the second half for the Tornados to end the game with 11, shooting four for nine from the field and three for three from the foul line.
Young players saw some quality playing time for Brevard. Tempestt Mack pulled down three rebounds and added two points, Asheley Watkins recorded three steals, two assists, and a steal, while Katelynne Poole added three points, a rebound, and a steal.
The Tornados take a break from conference action on Monday when they travel to Truett-McConnell for a 6:00 p.m. game.
