Colin Covelli joined the Brevard Athletic Department staff in the summer of 2012 as the Head Athletic Trainer.
Prior to coming to Brevard, Covelli was hired in August 2011 as the Assistant Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coach at Hartwick College in Oneonta, N.Y.
Covelli's vast athletic training experience includes working with the Southeastern Sports Medicine Orthopedic Clinic, working as the Head Certified Athletic Trainer at North Buncombe High School, as well as the Clinic ATC and Physician Extender from June 2010-July 2011.
While attending graduate school at Virginia Tech University, Covelli served as a certified Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer (2008-2010), working with the Hokies track & field and cross country teams, as well as the football team.
While working on his undergraduate degree at Western Carolina University, Covelli worked with the Catamounts football and softball teams. Covelli also spent time with the N.C. State football and track & field teams, the UNC Asheville men’s basketball team, the Asheville Aces professional hockey team.
Covelli received his master’s degree from Virginia Tech in Health and Physical Education, with a concentration in Sports Medicine in 2010. He received his bachelor’s degree from Western Carolina University in 2008 in Athletic Training.
He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association and has the following certifications and licenses: Board of Certification: Certified Athletic Trainer; North Carolina State Education Department, office of Professions, Licensed Athletic Trainer, NSCA Certification Commission: Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, American Red Cross, CPR/AED for Professional Rescue.
