Francesca Wood joined the Brevard College Athletic Department in December of 2013 as the Director of Compliance.
In her position, Wood is responsible for multiple compliance related tasks including assisting with the academic eligibility certification process, issuing rules interpretations, compiling waiver applications, completing various NCAA reporting requirements and monitoring both the Athletic Department and college to ensure compliance with all NCAA and South Atlantic Conference rules and regulations.
Wood comes to Brevard from Southeastern Louisiana University, where she had served as a Graduate Assistant in the Compliance Department since August 2012. While at Southeastern Louisiana, Wood was responsible for monitoring student-athlete’s academic progress, updating scholarship information and progress toward degree information in addition to developing tutoring plans for at-risk student athletes.
Prior to her time at Southeastern Louisiana, Wood served as the Compliance Intern at the University of Wisconsin – Parkside. There Wood determined initial eligibility for prospective student-athletes, created Grant-In-Aid offers and renewals, administered Coaching Certification exams and educated coaches on NCAA Division I rules and researched and filed waivers on behalf of student-athletes.
Wood graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in May of 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology-Sport Management and a minor in Communication. She earned a Juris Doctor from the Marquette University Law School in May of 2013.
