Luke Jaicks joins the Brevard College football coaching staff in 2017 as the Tornadoes special teams coordinator and cornerbacks coach. He comes to Brevard from Scottsdale Community College and Southwestern Oklahoma State where he coached DBs and linebackers.
Jaicks helped Scottsdale to a 10-1 record and a Western States Football League Championship in 2013. The Artichokes finished the season ranked 3rd in NJCAA play, after defeating Dodge City Community College in the Valley of the Sun Bowl. Following that success, three defensive backs signed with NCAA Division I institutions: Patrick Glover (University of Arizona), Jordan Frost Dixon (Middle Tennessee,) and Andre Fils (Hampton). In 2014 Jaicks coached at Southwestern Oklahoma State (Division II) where his CB Kevin Joseph was All-Conference, 2nd team All-Region, and finished 6th nationally in passes defended.
In 2015 Jaicks went back to Scottsdale to coach the DBs. The Scottsdale defense finished first overall in the conference and first in pass defense. The secondary finished eighth statistically in the country in pass defense. Jaicks oversaw four DB All Conference players in 2015. Chevoski Collins and DJ Olmstead were First-Team All-Conference selections, and Collins was selected First-Team All American by the NJCAA (DB). Collins received multiple Division I offers, and DJ Olmstead signed with Idaho despite having no offers, even at the Division III level, coming out of high school. Telvance Way was a Second Team selection (DB), while Kylan Cotton was selected Honorable Mention. Both received scholarship offers, and they ended the season by defeating Central Lakes (MN) in the Valley of the Sun Bowl. In 2016 Jaicks coached the LBs at Scottsdale Community College. Individually the group was responsible for 11 of the 14 turnovers recorded that year. Sophomores Londale Sanders and Angel Silva were offered Division I scholarships, and Sanders recently signed with University of Arkansas Pine Bluff.
As a player in high school, Jaicks was a Second Team All-State selection (DB) and First Team All-Region (WR) selection (2005). Jaicks went on to play two years at Scottsdale CC before transferring to Southern Utah University to complete his career. He recorded 6 interceptions, 23 tackles, and 5 pass breakups for the Artichokes as he earned all-conference honors.
A native of Mesa, AZ, Jaicks holds a bachelor’s degree in “Eastern” psychology from Maharishi University of Management and has completed one year in his pursuit of a master's degree in sports management.
