Bumgarner comes to Brevard from her previous position as Assistant General Manager and Head Teaching Professional at Brevard Health and Racquet Club.
"I’m excited to be working with both the men’s and women’s programs, in developing them as collegiate players and quality student-athletes both on and off the court," commented Coach Bumgarner. "I look forward to coming into a quality program and improving on what Coach Thomson has accomplished as we look to take it to the next level."
Bumgarner’s previous tennis experience includes working as the Tennis Director at High Hampton Inn in Cashiers, N.C., as well as working with the Brevard Racquet Club from 1981-1988 and more recently, 2007-2010.

She then transferred to Appalachian State University, where she played #1 singles and doubles before her career was ended after three shoulder surgeries.
"Tennis has always had a lot of community support from Brevard, and I’d like to build on that support to bring more people to the matches," said Bumgarner. "In turn, I think it leads the student-athletes here at Brevard College to get a great college experience, and not just with the school, but really makes them feel at home when they think of Brevard."
