Personal: Gruber comes to Brevard from Walterboro, S.C. and Dorchester Academy where he played for Coach Stanley Gruber...Gruber was a four-year starter on the varsity squad at Dorchester, accumulating 165 tackles in his senior season...Selected to the All-Region team in both 2009 and 2010 and was an All-State Selection in 2010...Named the HSSR SCISA Class A Player of the year in 2010, being selected to the Oasis Shrine Bowl where he led the South team in tackles..Member of the baseball team...Off the field, he was a Boys State Candidate, as well as a Mr. Challenger Nominee.
