High School: Koivu comes to Brevard from Helsinki, Finland and Pohjois-Haagan Yhteiskoulu. Koivu finished in the top 20 in the Finnish Amateur rankings in 2010 and was the Utah State Champion in 2008. In addition to golf, Koivu participated in soccer and ice hockey. Off the course, he was a three-time member of the Mount Vernon Honor Roll. He is the son of Jukka Koivu.
