Brevard baseball will go on the road to take on Pfeiffer looking to avenge their sweep two weeks ago when the teams met at Gil Coan Field. First pitch of the three-game series is set to be thrown at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
After suspending play on Friday afternoon, the Brevard baseball team was unable to overcome Covenant in an 8-5 decision that was officially called after five innings on Saturday. The two teams were only able to play one of the three games that were originally scheduled, because inclement weather in the area permitted only one game.
Drake Black and Tyler Timms each pitched complete games in the doubleheader against Pfeiffer on Saturday afternoon in the final home games of their career, however the Falcons came away with 6-2 and 6-1 victories at Gil Coan Field.
Hot bats and strong pitching for helped Brevard earn both wins of the doubleheader on Sunday against Berea, and as a result the Tornados completed the sweep of the Mountaineers over the weekend. Brevard is now 5-15 on the season, and achieved its first sweep since 2016.
Christian Ezzell recorded his first collegiate home run while Donny Carsillo led all players with three RBI, but Maryville prevailed over Brevard 7-6 in 10 innings at Gil Coan Field on Saturday afternoon.
