Dalton Cole and Trevon Charles Earn USA South Player of the Week Honors

BREVARD, N.C. –  Brevard College Football student-athletes Dalton Cole and Trevon Charles have been named as weekly USA South Conference award recipients for their performance in BC's 41-36 victory over Methodist University. The selections mark the first-ever conference awards for Brevard College football as a member of the USA South Conference, as Brevard was ineligible for conference awards last year in its transition into the NCAA Division III ranks.

Cole was named the USA South Conference's Offensive Rookie of the Week, while Trevon Charles was named the conference's Special Teams Player of the Week.

Football Offensive Rookie of the Week

Dalton Cole, Brevard - The freshman quarterback from Hendersonville, North Carolina passed for two touchdowns and ran for another in the 41-36 victory over USA South foe  Methodist. Through the air, Cole was 21-of-33 for 292 yards while his one-yard score on the ground gave the Tornados a lead they would not relinquish. Also Nominated: Jarrod Mosby, Averett; Nate Coffey, Greensboro; Nelson Smith, Maryville.

Football Special Teams Player of the Week

Trevon Charles, Brevard - The sophomore defensive back from Miami, Florida averaged 53.5 yards per kickoff return in a 41-36 victory over USA South foe Methodist.
