Tempestt Smith enters her third season as the Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach at Brevard College.
Smith was named as an assistant coach for the women’s lacrosse program in May of 2017 after serving as a student assistant during the 2017 campaign.
Her collegiate career began in 2012 at Genesee Community College in Batavia, N.Y., before transferring to Brevard in the lacrosse program’s second year of existence.
The addition of Smith and her defensive prowess, which resulted in 18 caused turnovers, was instrumental in the Tornados earning their first win in program history against Emmanuel (March 21, 2015). Brevard added two more wins later in the season against Lincoln Memorial (April 4) and North Greenville (April 21).
Smith enjoyed a solid senior campaign (2015-16) as the team posted a 9-7 record, appearing in all 16 contests. She forced 12 turnovers over the course of that season, third most on the team, as the Tornados caused 148 as a unit.
Smith earned her bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in ecology from Brevard in May 2017.
