BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College Tornados Women's Soccer team (0-0-1) earned a draw in its season debut versus out-of-conference opponent Emory & Henry (0-0-1) on Friday night at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
Goalkeeper Rebeccah Rojas (0-0-1) kept a clean sheet to lead a spirited defensive effort through the 110 minutes played on Friday evening. Rojas, a junior from Murrieta, California, saved seven total shots in the contest.
In total on the night, the Tornados outshot the Wasps 12-10, including a 10-7 advantage on shots-on-target.
Brevard took advantage of its field positioning, completing 10 corner kicks to Emory & Henry's three on the evening.
One lone yellow card was issued on the night, as the Wasps' Ashlee Jordan was shown an infraction at the 106-minute mark for a hard foul at the top of BC's box.
The Tornados held the possession advantage throughout the contest, controlling possession for 58% of the defensive-dominated contest.
BC Women's Soccer will return to action on Wednesday, September 4 as they face off with Piedmont International in Winston-Salem, N.C. at 5 p.m.
