In part of an expanded partnership with UNC Health Pardee, Brevard College Athletics is excited to announce that Ben Chamberlain has been selected as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for BC Athletics. Chamberlain begins his first year with the Tornados on August 1.
Chamberlain recently earned his Master of Science in Athletic Training from Appalachian State University after completing his Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science at App State, graduating cum laude.Â
"I'm incredibly excited to join the Brevard College family and become part of the Tornado community," stated Chamberlain. "What stood out to me most about Brevard is the strong support surrounding its student-athletes and athletic programs, along with the culture within the sports medicine team. I'm grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such dedicated professionals and look forward to helping support the health, performance, and overall experience of Brevard's student-athletes."
Throughout his graduate program, Chamberlain gained extensive clinical experience working with collegiate and high school student-athletes across a variety of sports. Most recently, he worked with Appalachian State's cross country and track and field programs, where he evaluated acute and overuse injuries and developed maintenance programs for athletes managing chronic conditions. He also completed an immersive rotation at Mississippi State University, gaining experience with men's and women's basketball while developing rehabilitation plans and providing preventative care, including taping and therapeutic interventions.
Chamberlain's background also includes work with Appalachian State football, where he designed individualized maintenance programs and provided injury evaluation and treatment, as well as clinical experience in an injury clinic setting, where he documented patient care and assisted with rehabilitation protocols. At the high school level, he provided emergency and sideline care for multiple sports and conducted concussion baseline testing for student-athletes.
In addition to his clinical work, Chamberlain served as President of the Appalachian State Athletic Training Students' Association, coordinating professional development opportunities and leading organizational initiatives. He also worked as a Gross Anatomy Teaching Assistant, helping educate graduate students through hands-on instruction and assessment.
