BREVARD, N.C. – Brevard College senior forward
Mikayla Zvekan logged a goal and an assist to bring her career points total to 57, breaking the Tornados' NCAA-era record for career points, as the Brevard women's soccer team (5-0-0) dominated Carolina University (0-6-2) 9-0 on Tuesday evening at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
Zvekan scored in the 17th minute and later added an assist early in the second half to break the career points mark, surpassing Megan Shina's 56 points set from 2015-18.

Mikayla Rubin in the scoring column. Mozley's two-goal performance marked her second multi-goal outing of the season and the fifth of her career. Needelman, a sophomore from Huntersville, North Carolina, scored her first collegiate goal.
Rubin, a sophomore midfielder from Boynton Beach, Florida, recorded the sixth three-assist game in Brevard's NCAA era. Mozley and Zvekan have also achieved the feat.
With the win, Brevard extended its unbeaten streak to 23 matches, dating to the end of the 2023 season. The Tornados also pushed their home unbeaten streak to 22 matches since Oct. 15, 2022. Through five games in 2025, Brevard has outscored its opponents 36-0 and has yet to allow a goal in 450 minutes of play. Overall, the Tornados have not surrendered a goal in the last 673 minutes, 5 seconds, dating back to Oct. 30, 2024.
The Tornados wasted no time, as a cross from Howell found Mozley for the opening goal in the third minute. Off a corner kick in the 12th, Rubin sent in a ball that Needelman finished with a header to make it 2-0.
Rubin connected with Zvekan in the 17th for Brevard's third goal, before Porcelli added another on a Rubin through ball for a 4-0 halftime lead.
Amid heavy rain early in the second half, goalkeeper Nunez sparked a build-up with a 60-yard goal kick to Zvekan, who played Mozley through for her second goal.
Rubin scored her fourth of the season off a Porcelli assist in the 64th, before Pettibone finished a Floyd assist for Brevard's seventh. Floyd then tallied a goal of her own in the 75th, and Barton capped the scoring with her fifth of the season in the 84th.
Brevard now has 13 different goal scorers this season, with seven players tallying multiple goals. Seven Tornados also have multiple assists.
The Tornados open USA South Conference play and wrap up a four-match homestand Friday at 7 p.m. against Meredith College.
