BREVARD, N.C. – A busy stretch of four matches in nine days that concluded a span of six contests in two weeks culminated in Senior Day for the Brevard College men's tennis program on Saturday at the McCoy Tennis Complex.
The Tornados returned back home on the heels of three-straight road defeats – a 7-0 result at NCAA DII Mars Hill (April 10), a 7-0 conference defeat at the hands of No. 40 NC Wesleyan (April 11), and a 6-1 result on the road at Columbia College (April 17).
Against the Koalas,
Caelan Byrd and
Connor Sechrist secured a 7-6 doubles victory thanks to a tiebreaker, however the Tornados fell in the other two doubles contests as the Koalas took the point.
Ayden Montero and
Alexander Voss each took their opponents to a third-set tiebreak, but the Koalas pulled away in each of those matches, 10-3 in the decisive frame.
Nathan Bookout logged BC's lone singles win at the number-three spot, winning 6-2, 6-3.
Senior Day Saturday commenced in the morning as
David Hoyle was honored in a special pre-match ceremony. The Tornados battled but fell in the 2026 season finale, 7-0, to Methodist (12-5, 3-2 USAS).
