SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Brevard College cross country team opened up the 2026 campaign at the Eye Opener hosted by USC Upstate at Milliken Research Park.
The highly-competitive field featured schools from all three NCAA divisions and the NAIA.
On the men's side, junior Ethan Carlan led the Tornados in the 8k with a time of 28:02.4, followed by fellow junior Matthew Harris' 29:23.1. Parker Sharpe, Flint Hoyt, Caden Fuller, Trace Zeh, Jaden Reinhart, and Devon Joseph all made their collegiate debuts as well.
In the women's 5k, Karley Call led the Tornados with a 25:09, while Molly Perry (25:31.5), Ava Thrift (27:51.3), and Jordan Frenette (27:52.9) also competed for BC.
The Tornados gear up to host the Third Annual Brevard XC Classic on Friday, September 18 at 10 a.m. at the Brevard AirStrip.
