Daniel Engman is entering his first season with the Brevard Tornados. He will be serving as the Defensive Run Game Coordinator and Inside Linebackers Coach while also serving as the Defensive Coordinator for the Tornados Future’s Program.
Engman is a high school football player turned collegiate student coach and has worked as a part of collegiate football staffs since his freshman year of college at UNC-Charlotte in 2017. Serving in various roles on multiple staffs in his time at UNCC until he graduated in 2021.
After graduation from Charlotte, Engman began his coaching career at Saint Augustine’s University, a Division II school in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. He served as the Inside Linebackers Coach from the fall of 2021 to the spring of 2023 where his role was transitioned from Inside Linebackers to Outside Linebackers/Defensive Assistant under the new staff.
In 2024, Engman left SAU to become the Defensive Line coach at Highland Community College, where he also handled the strength and conditioning responsibilities as well.
Engman was born in Raleigh, North Carolina to parents, Amy C. Engman and DuWayne R. Engman, and was raised with one younger sibling. Coach Engman attended Middle Creek High School where he played both Varsity Football & Lacrosse. He won four consecutive conference championships in football and in 2017 won a state championship in lacrosse with an undefeated record. He went on the earn his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from UNC-Charlotte.
