Myranda Crews is entering her eighth year as the Associate Vice President for Athletics at Brevard College in 2025-26, where she has led the Department of Athletics with a strong focus on academic success, athletic excellence, and facility improvements. In addition to her role at Brevard College, Crews is a member of the NCAA Division III Management Council, where she represents both the USA South Conference and the broader NCAA Division III membership at-large. Her term on the prestigious council, which is the highest-level committee on which an athletics director can serve, will continue through January 2027.
Since returning to Brevard College in 2018, Crews has overseen major upgrades to the college's athletic facilities, including the expansion of Ives-Lemel Family Field in 2021 to accommodate the return of football to campus and the construction of an athletic fieldhouse that serves seven sports. A new press box was added to the grandstands of the expanded field in 2022. Boshamer Gym saw upgrades in lighting as well as a redesigned Chick Martin Court in 2024. A partnership led to a renovated Comporium Hospitality and Media Suite in which all hospitality events and media opportunities now have an updated space and look.
Crews has been instrumental in leading Brevard College through its reclassification process. Following a successful navigation of the NCAA Division III membership process, the 2020-2021 season marked the first time the Tornados were eligible for postseason play. In their inaugural NCAA Division III season, despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Tornados secured their first USA South Championship with a West Division title in Men’s Soccer, as well as a divisional co-championship in Football. Since, the Tornados have also captured USA South Championships in two additional men’s soccer, a regular season and tournament championship in women’s soccer as well as a regular season co-championship in Women’s Basketball. In addition, Cycling has garnered 24individual national championships since 2018.Â
Under Crews' leadership, Brevard College has also seen significant academic success. The college has maintained a cumulative student-athlete GPA above 3.0 for fifteenconsecutive semesters with Fall 2025 seeing the highest among student-athletes at a 3.3 semester GPA.Â
Crews is an active and engaged leader within the broader athletics community, serving as the past chair of the USA South Athletic Directors Leadership Team and as a member of the USA South Hall of Fame Committee. She is also involved with several organizations, including Women Leaders in College Sports, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), and the National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators (NADIIIAA). Additionally, Crews serves on the Transylvania Country Crime Stoppers Board as well as a member of the Board of Advisors for Anderson University’s Center for Leadership and Organizations.Â
Crews' career began at Brevard College in 2010, where she served as Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator (SWA), overseeing six sports, managing athletic department budgets, and advising the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). After leaving Brevard College in 2016, she served as Associate Athletic Director/SWA at Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota, before returning to Brevard College in 2018.
A native of Statesville, North Carolina, Crews holds a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management with a minor in Leadership from Western Carolina University (2010), an MBA from WCU (2012), and her Ph.D. in Leadership from Anderson University (2025).
