In part of an expanded partnership with UNC Health Pardee, Brevard College Athletics is excited to announce that Meghan Martinez has been selected as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for BC Athletics.

"BC Athletics is thrilled to continue expanding our partnership with UNC Health Pardee in this capacity," commented Associate VP for Athletics Dr. Myranda Nash. "Pardee's continued passion for the health and well-being of our student-athletes has been paramount throughout this partnership, and we are excited to continue this relationship."

Martinez joins BC after completing her Master's degree in Athletic Training this past May at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.

"I'm so excited to join the Tornado family," stated Martinez. "I look forward to working with the athletic training team to bring exceptional care to all BC student-athletes. I can't wait to continue to develop my skills and learn from the rest of the team!"

Martinez joins BC on the heels of a pair of immersive clinical rotations. This past Spring, she worked alongside Appalachian State's NCAA DI FBS football program. From August to December 2024, Martinez completed an immersive clinical rotation with the men's and women's basketball teams at Mississippi State University in Starkville, Mississippi.

Prior to her Immersive Clinical Rotations, Martinez gained valuable experience while completing her Master's degree, working with App State's Track & Field and Women's Soccer squads, in addition to a stint with North Wilkesboro High School in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. Other clinical experience for Martinez includes work with the App State Faculty Injury Clinic, a high school wrestling camp in Boone, UNC Appalachian-App Ortho in the Outpatient Orthopedic Clinic, and work as an Emergency Medical Services ride-along with Watauga Medics.

Martinez completed her undergraduate work in 2023 from App State, earning a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. She was a recipient of the Ronald W. (Doc) Kanoy Athletic Training Scholarship, was a member of the Athletic Training Student Association (ATSA), and is an active member of both the National Athletic Training Association (NATA) and the North Carolina Athletic Training Association (NCATA).
