BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College Tornados Football team (1-5, 0-3 SAC) fell by a final of 47-0 to the Carson-Newman Eagles (3-3, 2-2 SAC), Saturday afternoon during homecoming weekend at Brevard College.

The Tornados would use halftime of their contest with Carson-Newman to honor the 10-year anniversary of the reintroduction of football back into the fold at Brevard College in 2006.

Carson-Newman opened the afternoons scoring early into the first quarter, capping of a 15 play, 75-yard drive with a one-yard rush by Tyson Herron. The Eagles would add two more first quarter rushing scores to take a 21-0 advantage heading into the second quarter.

The Eagles benefitted from two Jonathan King field goals in the second quarter to take a 27-0 edge into halftime.

Carson-Newman would add one more score in the third and two in the fourth, as the Eagles extra-point attempt on their final scoring drive was blocked by the Tornados.

Offensively, the Tornados were lead on the ground by senior slot back T.J. Lett (Sanford, N.C.) who finished with 23-yards rushing, while freshman Xavier Brown (Conyers, Ga.) and senior Isaac German (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) added 16 and 14-yard, respectively. Redshirt-sophomore quarterback Tyler Gregory (Williamson, Ga.) finished three of seven through the air for 24-yards, as freshman receiver Martigus Henley (Mearsville, Ga.) finished with two catches for 20-yards.

Junior inside linebacker Jason Nieradka (Kernersville, N.C.) led the Tornados with 14 tackles on the afteroon, while sophomore Ashud Moore (Ellenwood, Ga.) finished with nine stops and two pass breakups for the game. In addition to Nieradka and Moore, outside linebacker Josh Allman (Belmont, N.C.) recorded nine stops of his own, including two tackles for loss and one sack, while senior Clint Spinks (Rutherford, College, N.C.) also record a sack.

Brevard is schedule to return back to action this coming weekend October 15, as they travel to Gaffney, S.C. to face off with Limestone in a non-conference clash.
