BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College Men's Basketball team (0-3) fell to Pfeiffer University (3-0) 82-58 despite a second half comeback, where the Tornados outscored Pfeiffer by fifteen points.
The Falcons would have an offensive first half scoring 56 of their 82 points. Junior guard Josh Calhoun would lead the way for Pfeiffer as he connected for 22 points while coming up with four steals for the Falcons. Senior forward Keith Jumper would control the boards for Pfeiffer with nine total rebounds and scoring six points in the first half. The Falcons would also finish a perfect 13-13 from the free-throw line in the first half and go onto be 17-21 from the line for the night.
In the second half, Brevard took command shooting 59.3% from the field and 50% from behind the arc. D.J. Bostick (Marietta, Ga.) would start the second half scoring two three-pointers to help cut the deficit. Senior Harry Singh (Hanover Park, Ill.) would have four steals for the Tornados in the second half to help Brevard's charge.
D.J. Bostick would be the only Tornado in double-digits for the night as the junior guard led the team with 12 points. Omar El Diraoui (Beirut, Lebanon) blocked six shots away from the Falcons. The senior forward also came down with five rebounds. Stevie Williams (High Point, N.C.) would add nine points, capture six rebounds, and dish out three assists before fouling out of the game.
The men will be back in action this Saturday, November 19 as they travel to Tigerville, S.C. to take on North Greenville in a non-conference matchup beginning at 2 pm. The Tornados will have their first conference game on Tuesday, November 22, as they host Tusculum College. The women begin at 6 pm and the men's game follows.
