ANDERSON, S.C. - The Brevard College Tornados Women's Soccer team (3-3, 0-3 SAC) battled the Anderson Trojans (6-1, 3-0 SAC) through a scoreless regulation Wednesday afternoon in Anderson, S.C. but an early overtime score by the Trojans would give Anderson the 1-0 win.

Following 90 minutes of scoreless soccer action that included three shots on goal from the Tornados and two by the Trojans, Wednesday's conference juggernaut needed extra time to decide a game winner. Anderson would supply the lone goal .47 seconds into overtime as Emily Perez collected a blocked shot from Megan Foster in front of the Brevard College net that allowed the Trojans to take a 1-0 win.

Anderson would account for a 24-7 shot advantage on the afternoon, while the Tornados managed to even the conference front-runner Anderson three-to-three in shots on frame. Wednesday marked Brevard's third-straight one goal conference decision as BC lost 1-0 to LMU to open conference play and fell 2-1 to Coker this past weekend. The Tornados recent hard fought decisions, demonstrates the teams continuous want to compete and push other conference schools to the limit.

Offensively, Brevard was led by Anita Maryskova (Liberec, Czech Republic), Sydney Alencewicz (Ocoee, Fla.) and Alex Perri (Naples, Fla.) who ended the match with two shot attempts apiece, while sophomore Caroline David (Charlotte, N.C.) supplied the remaining BC shot.

Tornados goaltender Laurel Neuzil (Loudon, Tenn.) played well in net for Brevard as the true freshman turned away two Anderson scoring attempts on the afternoon before surrendering the games lone goal in overtime.

Brevard will look to pick up their first conference victory of the season as they welcome the Mars Hill Lions to the newly renovated Brevard College Soccer field with action slated to get underway at 4:30, following the men's match.
