Men's Soccer Rolls Past Warren Wilson, 4-0; Spencer Ties Program Goal Record

Box Score

SWANNANOA, N.C. - Sophomores Ryan Lynch and Ryan Sinkamba were involved with multiple scoring attempts, as the Brevard College men's soccer team (3-1-1) rolled past Warren Wilson College (0-3), 4-0, on Wednesday evening in nearby Swannanoa, North Carolina as the two Western North Carolina institutions squared off.

Adam Spencer, a senior from Mooresville, North Carolina, scored his second goal in his second game of the year. Spencer's 29th-minute score moved the fifth-year senior into a tie for the NCAA-era career lead for goals scored, as Spencer is now tied with former teammate Matheus Masukawa with 12 career goals as BC Tornados.

Lynch, a native of Charlotte, scored his first goal of Fall 2021 while also dishing out two assists for a four-point performance. Sinkamba, a product of Lusaka, Zambia, scored his first of the season on a Lynch assist, while also providing his counterpart with a goal on the second "Ryan-to-Ryan" connection of the contest.

Daniel Ribeiro scored his first goal at Brevard, as the freshman from São Paulo, Brazil headed home a Juan Martin Ycaza assist - the first in the career of Ycaza.

Jack Pruehs (2-1) logged his second victory of the season, tallying his second combined shutout of 2021 as Otis Kahar came on in the 57th minute.

Brevard dominated the shooting totals, 20-1, dominating possession throughout the contest. Warren Wilson tallied six saves while controlling seven corner kicks to BC's two.

Sinkamba got the scoring underway in the 12th minute, as Lynch played the ball through to the sprinting sophomore, who beat the keeper one on one on the break and slotted the ball home.

Lynch got involved again for his second assist of the contest, finding Spencer in the middle of the box as the senior ripped an attempt past Warren Wilson's keeper to make the contest a 2-0 affair. BC would take their two-score advantage into the locker rooms.

Lynch scored his first goal of the season in the 57th minute, as Sinkamba played the ball to him in stride. The Charlotte product would one-time it and place it over the keeper, extending Brevard's lead to a 3-0 margin.

In the 80th minute, Ycaza dashed down the near sideline and whipped in a lovely cross to Ribeiro, who controlled his header and placed a ball that found the back of the net, pushing Brevard's advantage up to 4-0, as BC cruised to victory.

The Tornados will next travel to Emory, Virginia on Sunday, September 19 for a matinee against Emory & Henry College at 2 p.m.
