SWANNANOA, N.C. - The Brevard College men's soccer squad (6-7-2) used a late game-winner from senior forward
Ryan Lynch to defeat with Warren Wilson College (0-13), 1-0 on Tuesday afternoon in nearby Swannanoa, North Carolina.
Lynch, the program's leading goal-scorer, scored the game-winning goal late on an assist from
Jerick Moreno to push the Tornados ahead in the final stages of the match.
BC's defense faced 11 total shots and one shot on goal as the Tornado defense kept the clean sheet.
Matheus Rossi got the start in goal for Brevard, making one save in 90 minutes of work.
Lynch took a team-high five shot attempts, including three attempts on-goal. BC's
Daniel Morgan added a pair of shots, as eight different Tornados registered shots in the match.
Warren Wilson's Kian Godwin registered five saves to keep the Tornado offense off the board until the final minutes of action. Ryan Kiser led the hosts with three shots.
The Tornados close out the 2023 regular season with a pivotal road contest that will decide first-round seeding and hosting privileges. BC will head to Cary, North Carolina on Saturday for a rematch of last season's USA South Conference Championship match vs. William Peace University at 3 p.m.
