GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Brevard College volleyball team (10-17) fell by a final of 3-0 (25-11, 25-15, 25-21) to second-seed Greensboro College (19-10) in the first round of the 2023 USA South Conference Volleyball Tournament on Tuesday evening in Greensboro, North Carolina.
BC's season concludes with the defeat, capping off a year in which the Tornados won more games (10) in a single season since 2017, when the program secured 13 victories. The Tornados also finished the season off with a winning record (5-4) at home. Brevard's Kaitlyn Pressley and Bailey Lance also secured weekly honors through the 2023 campaign from the USA South
Senior outside hitter Makenna Parkins led all attackers with six kills, with Pressley and junior outside hitter Ashley Hoxit each totaled five kills apiece. Pressley turned in an all-around effort with nine assists and 12 digs, while Hoxit and Lance added 11 digs each. Logan Priddy totaled nine assists for Brevard as well.
Greensboro was led by Payton Shiflet, who racked up a match-high 16 kills. Jaylyn Templeton (30 assists) and Morgan Mayfield (21 digs) also recorded match highs.
