GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Brevard College women's soccer team (5-2-1, 1-0-1 USA South) found a second-half goal to ensure a 1-1 draw at Greensboro College (3-2-3, 0-0-1 USAS) on Wednesday evening at Pride Field in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Trailing 1-0 for a significant portion of the match, sophomore forward
Olivia Guillermo found the back of the net in the 70th minute for the equalizer. Guillermo's goal came off a rebound from a shot from sophomore forward
Mikayla Zvekan who was credited with the assist.
For Guillermo, it marked the second goal of the season and the fourth goal of her career. The assist was the first of the season for Zvekan and the sixth of her career
Greensboro took the early lead with a goal by Abby Romanisko in the 20th minute. From there, the Pride led 1-0 for the next 50 minutes through halftime and up until the equalizer by Guillermo.
Brevard doubled up the Pride in shots with a 12-6 advantage, including a 9-3 differential in shots-on-goal. Each team registered just two corner kicks in the contest.
Senior forward
Grace Black led all players with six shots, including four shots-on-goal.

Abbie Worsencroft, and Zvekan each fired off a shot apiece.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Nicole Arroyo got the start in goal, playing all 90 minutes and registering two saves. The Tornado defense limited the Pride offensively, as BC has now held its opponents to no more than one goal in six of eight regular-season matches in 2023.
The Tornados continue USA South Conference play with a home match on Saturday as BC hosts Meredith College. Start time is set for 1 p.m. at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
