Box Score RALEIGH, N.C. - The Brevard College volleyball team (15-12, 7-10 USA South) dropped the first of two weekend contests to William Peace University (16-15, 8-9 USAS) on Friday evening in Raleigh, North Carolina, falling in straight sets, 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-12).
The Pacers broke a tight first set up, pulling away for a 25-20 first-set victory. The hosts then controlled the second set, capitalizing with a 25-16 set win to take a 2-0 match lead. WPU closed the match out with a comfortable 25-12 win in the third set.
Jaxson Tumicki led all Tornados with seven kills while freshman Casey Wampler added six kills. Makenna Parkins rounded out Brevard's offense with five kills. Izzy Boulay notched 22 assists while Bailey Lance recorded a team-high nine digs.
Chassie Jacops and Jordan Juanes lifted the Pacers with 10 kills apiece, with Maegan Brylski distributing 27 assists and recording a double-double with a match-high 13 digs.
The Tornados and Pacers return to action tomorrow at 12 p.m. for the regular season finale in Raleigh.
