Brevard Completes Season Sweep over Warren Wilson with 83-56 Win

Total of 12 Tornados Score in Winning Effort; BC Takes All Three Home Games in Week

BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College women's basketball team (7-2) won its third home game of the week with a complete team effort, resulting in a 27-point victory, 83-56, over Warren Wilson (0-9) on Saturday afternoon inside the Boshamer Gymnasium.

With the victory, the Tornados complete their unblemished three-game homestand and wrap up a season sweep over the Owls. Brevard is now 10-1 vs. WWC in its NCAA history.

Brevard took (34) and made (28) a season-high from the free throw line, and matched its season-high rebounding output with 63 total boards. BC's defense smothered the Owls, holding Warren Wilson to just a 17-for-72 (23.6%) mark from the field and a 7-for-36 (19.4%) effort from long distance.

Jada Petty-Wilkins recorded a team-high 12 points, while Josie Hester and Analee Morris each added 11 to round out BC's double-digit scorers. Naliyah Boyce, Makenna Parkins, and Lexi Shepard all recorded eight points apiece, with Boyce (eight rebounds) and Shepard (six rebounds) helping to lead the way on the glass. Kenadi Gentry (seven points) and Kayden Johnson (five points) each totaled collegiate-best scoring totals as 12 different Tornados entered the scoring column.

BC held a 36-20 edge scoring in the paint, outscored WWC on second-chance buckets 23-15, turned 18 Owl turnovers into 17 points, and outpaced WWC in bench scoring 36-22.

Warren Wilson was led by Tatyana Lewis, who scored 17 points with six rebounds. Hailey Riley added 11 points with three 3-pointers, while Weronika Swojak controlled the middle with nine points and eight rebounds.

BC led wire-to-wire in the contest, despite the Owls keeping the deficit within single digits for most of the first half. The Tornados kept their foot on the gas in the final two periods to pull away from WWC with the 27-point win.

Brevard takes next week off for finals before returning for a pair of USA South matchups on the road on Tuesday, December 17 at 6 p.m. at Greensboro and on Wednesday, December 18 at 4 p.m. at Methodist.
