BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Brevard College men's lacrosse team (0-2) continued its non-conference slate of action on Wednesday evening, falling 16-1 to NCAA DII Lees-McRae College (2-0) at Tate Field in a chilly Banner Elk, North Carolina.
 
Graduate attacker Parker Corbett logged his sixth goal of the season in the first quarter for the Tornados before the Bobcats finished the contest on a 15-0 scoring run. Jacob Gravely caused a team-high three turnovers and added four ground balls, while Will Scoggins won seven faceoffs for Brevard. Jack Hicks (0-1) got the start for the Tornados at goalkeeper and made 12 saves.
 
LMC's trio of Ryan Bird, Tyler Flannelly, and Logan Riley combined for nine of the Bobcats' 16 goals, as each one put up three goals apiece. Bird notched a game-high six points, with Clay Adams, Spence Combs, Valentino Cortes, and Cyrus Henderson all getting on the scoresheet for the hosts.
 
Lees-McRae held a 49-26 edge in shots (28-14 shots-on-goal), forced 27 BC turnovers, went 17-for-19 on clear attempts, and grabbed 41 total ground balls.
 
BC will now prepare for the annual Battle of the Blue Ridge contest against Warren Wilson, opening up the 2024 home schedule next Wednesday, February 21 at 7 p.m. against the Owls at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
