BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College men's tennis team (2-8, 1-1 USAS) defeated William Peace (1-6, 1-2 USAS) in a pair of matches between the two squads over the weekend at the McCoy Tennis Complex.
Brevard won the first match with a 9-0 blanking of the Pacers on Saturday afternoon in USA South Conference play. BC then took the second match in as many days with a 6-3 non-conference victory on Saturday.
On Saturday in conference play, Brevard ran out to a 3-0 lead after doubles play to start the weekend. Senior

Peter Bresko made quick work of their opponents with an 8-1 victory in number one doubles. BC's
Devin Horton and
Noah Lewis followed with an 8-5 win in number two doubles. Freshman
Hayden LeBlanc and junior
Bryce Bernitt then completed the sweep of doubles play by winning number one doubles 8-5 as well.
Junior
Brian Seon was the first Tornado to defeat a Pacer opponent in singles play with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win on the number six line. Ahead 4-0 in team competition, Horton topped his opponent 6-2, 6-2 in no. 3 singles to clinch the first team conference victory of the season for Brevard.
Lewis (no. 4),
David Hoyle (no. 5) and Bernitt (no. 2) all won their singles matches in straight sets. LeBlanc and WPU's Sam Jones meanwhile battled in the most competitive match of the day. LeBlanc took the first set, before Jones tied the match in an intense 7-6 result in set two. LeBlanc then won the tiebreaker 11-9 to secure the individual victory and the 9-0 sweep in conference play.
Sunday, the two teams squared off again with Brevard once again sweeping doubles play. Seon teamed up with Bresko and cruised to an 8-0 win in number three doubles. The teams of LeBlanc/Bernitt (no. 1) and Horton/Lewis (no. 2) went on to win their second straight doubles match over the Pacers.
Horton (no.2), Bresko (no. 5) and Seon (no. 6) all won their singles matches to clinch the team result and the two-match series over William Peace.
Brevard returns to action with a non-conference tilt vs. Franklin College at 11 a.m. on Friday at the McCoy Tennis Complex.
