BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College men's tennis team (1-3) fell 9-0 to Asbury University (1-2) on Thursday afternoon at the McCoy Tennis Complex in BC's home opener.
The Tornados fell in three hard-fought double matches before the Eagles closed things out with six-consecutive singles wins.
The closest match of the afternoon featured BC senior
Bryce Bernitt, who came back from a 6-0 defeat in the first set and won 6-3 in the second set, forcing a third-set deciding tiebreaker. The two sides played a 10-point tiebreaker, with a 10-1 win for Ignacio Ardiles.
Brevard is back in action on Friday, March 15 when the Tornados take on Truett-McConnell University at 1 p.m. in Cleveland, Georgia.
