BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College women's lacrosse team (8-8, 5-4 USA South) wrapped up its 2024 regular season with an 18-1 defeat to USA South Conference regular season champion Methodist University (13-2, 9-0 USAS) on Saturday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
Three BC seniors –
Cassidy Hutto,
Paige Kneubuhler, and
Grace Vaught – were honored in a special pre-game ceremony.
Xan Hill notched a goal for the Tornados, coming off an assist by
Emily Denaga. Kneubuhler caused a game-high six turnovers and added five ground balls defensively, while freshman goalkeeper
Kyla Smith-Fondall made 14 saves and grabbed eight ground balls.
Eight different Monarchs scored in Saturday's contest, with Payton Jones and Maddie Hagler leading the way with four goals each. Mikayla Ramos scored two goals and added two assists for four points.
The Tornados earned the five-seed in the 2024 USA South Conference Women's Lacrosse Tournament, as Brevard will take on four-seed Southern Virginia University on Tuesday, April 30 at 3 p.m.
