MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Rising junior sensation Jaxsen Wilkerson represented Brevard College at the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, held Thursday-Saturday, May 23-25 at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
 
Wilkerson, who qualified for nationals after finishing inside of the top-22 nationally during the regular season in the Triple Jump, finished 19^th in the event with a mark of 14.08 meters.
 
Wilkerson became the first Tornado to qualify for nationals since BC competed in the NAIA in the early 2000s, setting an NCAA-era school record in the event of 14.54 meters during the regular season. The  Granite Falls, North Carolina native earned USA South Conference Outdoor Field Athlete of the Meet honors following a stellar individual performance at the 2024 USA South Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships in April that included five total All-Conference selections, with two of each coming on the first and second teams.
