LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - The Brevard College men's soccer team (0-1) fell 2-1 to Covenant College (2-0) in the 2024 season opener on Saturday afternoon.
Victor Razera scored Brevard's goal at the four-minute mark off an assist from Ryan Lynch. The strike marked the first goal of Razera's collegiate career with the Tornados.
Covenant stormed back following a lengthy weather delay however, as the Scots used a pair of second-half goals to decide the affair, 2-1. Kade Theunissen equalized the contest in the 56th minute, while Fox Landgren scored the match winner in the 89th minute.
Covenant held a slight 9-7 advantage in the shooting department, while the Tornados made a pair of saves in the contest.
Brevard is back in action on Saturday, September 7 at 3 p.m. when the Tornados take on Averett University at Ives-Lemel Family Field in the home opener.
