BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College men's tennis team (0-2) fell in a hard-fought match 5-2 to Columbia College (1-0), closing out the Fall 2025 portion of the schedule for the Tornados at the McCoy Tennis Complex.
Garrett Cardwell and Alexander Voss combined to pick up a 6-4 win in number-three doubles, marking BC's first doubles win of the season. The Koalas were able to snatch the doubles point in the overall match with narrow wins in number one and two doubles play.
Sophomore Nathan Bookout won a thrilling match that went to the third set tiebreaker in number three singles. A narrow first set went the way of Columbia's Tiaan Jacob's, 7-6 (3), but Bookout responded with a 6-4 win in the second set. The decisive third-set tiebreak was dominated by Bookout, 10-2, marking the first victory of 2025-26 for the Cherryville, N.C. product.
BC sophomore transfer Connor Sechrist cruised in number four singles, 6-3, 6-2, however the Koalas were able to take four singles matches to clinch the 5-2 team win.
