BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College volleyball team (4–15, 2–6 USA South) dropped a straight-sets decision to visiting Meredith College (12–7, 6–3 USAS) on Saturday afternoon inside Boshamer Gymnasium. The Avenging Angels hit .281 as a team to sweep the Tornados 25–14, 25–20, 25–17.
Caitlyn Russell led Meredith with a match-high 14 kills and a .393 hitting percentage, while setter Lillie Davis tallied 27 assists and nine digs. Delaney Lowery chipped in seven kills and libero Megan Murray anchored the defense with 22 digs and three service aces.
Brevard was paced by senior
Jaxson Tumicki, who recorded eight kills and hit .385.
Emma Fontana followed with seven kills, while setter
Izzy Boulay finished with 15 assists and a team-high 15 digs. The Tornados totaled 22 kills and three team blocks but were limited to a .141 attack percentage overall.
Meredith hit over .300 in two of the three sets, using a .367 first-set clip to take control early and a .320 mark in the third to close the match.
Brevard is back in action next Tuesday, October 14 at 6 p.m. vs. Warren Wilson at The Bosh.
