BREVARD, N.C. - Sophomore defensive back
Brandon Broughton was named as the USA South Conference Football Defensive Player of the Week following Brevard College's 35-32 victory over Southern Virginia on Homecoming.

Broughton, a second-year Tornado from Lawrenceville, Georgia, matched his season and career high with 10 total tackles (five solo, five assisted), an interception, two pass breakups, and one and a half tackles for loss. The performance marked the second time this season that Broughton notched double-digit tackles

Halfway through the 2025 season, Broughton has registered 33 total tackles (23 solo, 10 assisted), with four and a half tackles for loss, a fumble recovery, an interception, and three pass breakups. Broughton's 33 total tackles is tied for the team lead.

BC will now prepare for a conference road test this Saturday at 1 p.m. in LaGrange, Georgia against LaGrange College.
