BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College Football team (6-4, 4-3 USA South) capped off its 2025 season with a resounding 45-6 victory over North Carolina Wesleyan (4-6, 2-5 USAS) on Saturday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
Before action on Saturday afternoon, BC football honored its 14-member senior class of Obadiah Grimes, Adam Douglas, Bailey Ramey, Jack Spotz, Ethan Beamish, Jaylen Brown, Reggie Taylor II, Quintrell Bowman, Jadien Deaton, Mason Tanner, Darrius Billingsley, Brayden Perez, Seth Robinson, and Brody Lindsey. Additionally, the BC cheerleading program honored its four seniors as well - Christine Freeman, Calista Henry, Tiffin Jacobs, and Abbey Waldrop. BC football also welcomed back several alumni for Alumni Day.
BC's defense forced a three-and-out on NCW's first possession, and the Tornado offense capitalized as Ethan Beamish connected with reigning USA South Special Teams Player of the Week Jeremyah Lane for a 38-yard touchdown reception.
Grimes forced an NCW fumble that was recovered by reigning USA South Defensive Rookie of the Week Marvin Pulley, and on the ensuing Battling Bishop drive, Deaton picked off his first pass as a Tornado to set up another BC scoring drive. Zion Fauntleroy-McDaniel punched the ball in from three yards out, giving the Tornados a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.
Brevard's defense forced its third turnover of the first half when Sylas Scruggs stripped the ball away from Tyson Resper, and Ramey jumped on the loose ball to once again set up the Tornado offense. On fourth-and-three on the NCW six, Beamish found Douglas for a senior-to-senior connection, as the Tornados extended their cushion to a 21-0 margin with 5:25 to go in the first half.
Another NCW drive resulted in yet another turnover forced by the staunch Tornado defense, as DJ Stevenson picked off a pass over the middle and returned it near the red zone. The pick set up a 39-yard field goal from Hayden Vandegriff, as the Tornados extended their lead to 24 points.
BC's defense forced a fourth-down stop in the final minute of the first half, and the Tornado offense once again capitalized as Beamish hit Taylor II in the back of the end zone, as the Tornados took a 31-0 lead into the intermission.
Beamish totaled three first-half touchdown throws, finding Douglas, Lane, and Taylor II. Fauntleroy-McDaniel punched in a TD score, while Vandegriff connected for a 39-yard field goal.
On the defensive end, Pulley led the way with six tackles and a fumble recovery, joined by Ramey's five stops and his loose ball pickup. Grimes and Scruggs forced fumbles, while Deaton and Stevenson secured interceptions.
Brevard began the second half with a bang, as Beamish connected with Messiah Ramseur for a 75-yard touchdown to give BC a 38-0 edge.
NCW scored their first touchdown of the day in the fourth quarter, but the strike was quickly cancelled out when Beamish connected with Josh Quinn for a three-yard touchdown, putting the Tornados back up by 39, 45-6.
Beamish completed his final collegiate game with 320 passing yards, going 19-for-29 with five touchdown passes. Rayshawn Williams totaled 57 rushing yards on 11 carries, with Fauntleroy-McDaniel accounting for the lone rushing score for the Tornados.
Ramseur had a team-high 93 yards receiving with his 75-yard touchdown reception, while Douglas hauled in a team-high seven receptions. Douglas, Lane, Quinn, and Taylor II all recorded touchdown targets.
Ramey was the leading tackler for the Tornados, finishing with 10 stops and a fumble recovery. Pulley logged nine and a loose-ball pickup as well. Grimes notched six tackles, a TFL, and a force fumble in his final collegiate contest. Antonio King and Scruggs wrangled in quarterback sacks, with Deshon Hadden and James Laycock combining for a sack as well.
Vandegriff went 6-for-6 on extra-point tries and nailed a 39-yard field goal.
With the win, BC finishes with six overall wins for the second consecutive season, and the Tornados went 3-0 against in-state opposition in 2025 (Greensboro, Methodist, and NC Wesleyan).
