BC Men’s Tennis Wins Big in Season Opener at Huntingdon

Tornados Rack Up Five Singles Wins and Takes Doubles Point

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – After an undefeated fall of 2024, The Brevard College men's tennis team (5-0) opened its spring season with a resounding 6-1 win over host Huntingdon (0-1) in a non-conference match in Montgomery, Alabama.

Brevard took a 1-0 lead after doubles play with wins in number two and three doubles to open the action.  In no. 2 doubles, the team of seniors Ethan McGee and Noah Lewis took down Sage Speer and Owen Wheelock 7-6 after a thrilling tiebreaker to secure the doubles point.  That win came following a dominant 6-2 victory by BC's no. 3 doubles team of freshmen Noah Boyles and Ayden Montero.

BC went on to win in five of the six singles matches to take the team win.  Hayden LeBlanc cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 win in no. 1 singles over Lane Young.  Montero won handily as well with a 6-3, 6-2 effort in no. 3 singles.  Freshman Nathan Bookout (no. 5) and McGee (no. 6) both won in straight sets as well.  Boyles meanwhile won in a tiebreaker in a marathon in no. 4 singles.

Brevard continues its 2025 spring campaign with a visit to LaGrange College on Saturday.  First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. in LaGrange, Georgia.
