Box Score 2 BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College men's and women's tennis teams split an exhibition with Mars Hill University on Thursday afternoon at the McCoy Tennis Complex.

BC's women's squad controlled the match from the onset in a 6-1 result. Mars Hill responded with a 7-0 final on the men's side.

Madison Bowen and
Jada Ore teamed up for a 6-2 triumph in number-two doubles. BC claimed the doubles point via a default result in the three-line.

In singles play, BC was able to claim five total points with wins in the two-through-six spots. Bowen defeated Versha Yadav 6-2, 6-1 in the no. 2 spot, while
Gracie Spangler came through with a 6-1, 6-0 result at no. 3.
Casey Wampler dominated her match, 6-1, 6-0, and the Tornados secured two points by default to wrap up the exhibition victory.

Mars Hill answered back with a resounding sweep on the men's side. Being an exhibition, the result does not count for or against BC's overall record.

BC's men's squad is next in action on Friday in its USA South Conference opener at William Peace in Raleigh, North Carolina. The women's side returns to play on Tuesday, March 25 at 3:30 p.m. in Lookout Mountain, Georgia against Covenant.
