STAUNTON, VA. - Brevard College men's tennis (9-3, 2-1 USA South) got back in the win column on Saturday morning in Staunton, Virginia with a sweep, 7-0, of Mary Baldwin University (3-8, 0-5 USAS).
The Tornados controlled the match from the onset, sweeping doubles to pick up the point before a dominant sweep in singles play capping off the team win.
BC swept doubles at the top-flight as Bryce Bernitt and Hayden LeBlanc cruised 6-0. Noah Lewis and Ethan McGee had little trouble with a 6-1 win at the number-two spot, and Garett Cardwell teamed up with David Hoyle for a 6-1 win at the three-spot.
Bernitt (no. 2) and LeBlanc (no. 1) swept their respective singles matches, 6-0, 6-0, while Cardwell (no. 6) and Lewis (no. 3) gave up just one point each in their contests. McGee dominated at the three-spot, 6-1, 6-1, and Hoyle wrapped things up with a 6-0, 6-2 win in number-five singles.
The Tornados are scheduled to return to action on Monday, April 7 at 2 p.m. against NC Wesleyan at the McCoy Tennis Complex.
