Brevard Downs Meredith to Complete Season Sweep

Seventh Win in a Row for Tornados WBB

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Brevard College women's basketball team (13-3, 8-1 USA South) handled Meredith (2-12, 1-8 USAS), as the Torndos cruised to a 67-44 victory in Raleigh.

The triumph marked the seventh victory in a row for the Tornados, and their eighth win by 20 or more points in 2025-26.

BC used a well-balanced attack in th victorious effort. Senior guard Jada Petty-Wilkins scored 11 points with three made 3-pointers, grabbed a team-best eight boards, and swiped four steals. Senior forward Olivia Miller stuffed the stat sheet with 11 point, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals.

Sophomore forward Kayden Johnson was a perfect 4-for-4 from the field for 10 points while adding six rebounds and three blocked shots. Malayka Rankin and Christena Rhone paced the bench with nine points each.

Brevard's defense smothered Meredith throughout the contest. The Tornado defense allowed single digit points in quarters one through three, stifling the Avenging Angels to 29% shooting from the field, forcing 28 turnovers with 14 steals.

BC kicks off a pivotal week of league play next Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 5 p.m. in Misenheimer, N.C. against Pfeiffer.
