BREVARD, N.C. A trio of Tornados reached double figure scoring totals in a 96-81 setback for Brevard College men's basketball (8-10, 1-0 USA South) to Southern Virginia (10-8, 6-1 USAS) on Friday evening at the Boshamer Gymnasium.
Sophomore guard Twain Wilson surpassed the 20-point mark for the fifth time in 2025-26, as the Columbia, S.C. native put up 24 points on 7-of-12 from the field with three 3-pointers and seven free throws made. Senior forward Jadon Carnes scored 17 points with three 3-pointers, distributed a team-high seven assists, and added four rebounds, while senior guard KK Horton added 16 points with three triples and four assists. The trio accounted for 57 of Brevard's 81 points in the contest.
Tillman Johnson paced the Knights with an impressive 30-point performance, going 10-of-16 from the field and 9-of-10 at the free throw line. DJ Green stuffed the stat sheet with a double-double of 16 points and 10 assists alongside six boards and two steals. Ashton Davis anchored the Knights' bench attack with 25 points on 10-of-11 from the field and 5-of-5 at the charity stripe.
SVU shot 59% from the field, while BC doubled them up from beyond the arc, 10-to-5. The Knights hit 21 of their 22 attempts at the free throw line, scored a staggering 60 of its 96 points in the paint, dominated the glass 41-21, and registered assists on 25 of their 35 made field goals.
Brevard's defense was able to force SVU to commit 17 turnovers, and BC capitalized with 27 points off those mistakes.
BC will look to bounce back next Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 5:30 p.m. against Greensboro College in Greensboro, N.C.
