GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Brevard College women's basketball team (19-4, 14-2 USA South) cruised past Greensboro (9-14, 6-10 USAS) 85-61 on Tuesday evening at Haynes Gymnasium to complete the season sweep of the host Pride.
With the victory, the Tornados have secured their 19th overall regular-season win of 2025-26, setting a new program NCAA-era benchmark for a single season. Brevard also secured a new single-season high for the NCAA era by registering its 14th conference win.
BC has won 18 of its 19 games in 2025-26 by double digits, and has earned 13 wins by 20 points or more.
Sophomore forward Kayden Johnson continued her breakout second collegiate season with a massive double-double effort of 19 points on 9-of-12 shooting to go along with a career-high 15 rebounds, contributing defensively with two steals and two blocks as well.
Christena Rhone sank six 3-pointers in an 18-point effort, while Analee Morris rounded out the starting trio with 17 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in an all-around effort. Malayka Rankin led all bench scorers with 10 points, and Jada Petty-Wilkins stuffed the stat sheet with a career-high 13 rebounds to go along with seven points and eight assists.
The Tornado defense forced Greensboro into 19 turnovers with 14 steals, held the Pride to 28% shooting from the field, and kept the hosts under 20% from beyond the arc.
BC led by as many as 12 in the first period, holding a six-point lead at the end of the frame, 22-16. Brevard pushed its edge back up to double digits, and an 11-1 run to end the second quarter gave BC a dominant 47-30 halftime lead.
Brevard stretched its lead out to 31 points near the end of the third quarter. From that point forward, the Tornados kept their foot on the gas to wrap up the 24-point victory.
For Greensboro, Tatum Bradford and Taya Simpkins each put up 15 points, and Kensley Steward added 11.
Brevard takes on Pfeiffer on Thursday at 7 p.m. in its return to the Boshamer Gymnasium.
