ATLANTA - The Brevard College men's lacrosse team (0-5) fell 13-4 on Saturday to Oglethorpe (1-4) in non-conference action.
Gage Khayat found the back of the net twice for the Tornados, while freshman Calvin Rivers found the back of the net for the first two times in his collegiate career. Dorman controlled seven ground balls and caused four turnovers, and Logan Southern won nine faceoffs with four ground balls. Goalkeeper Jameson Murray made 13 saves in another double-digit save output.
Oglethorpe scored the first two goals of the match before Brevard tied things up, knotting the contest at two goals apiece with a pair of Khayat strikes. The hosts outscored Brevard 4-1 in the second quarter to take a 6-3 halftime lead, and pulled away in the second half with a 7-1 margin for the nine-goal victory.
Brevard returns to action on Saturday, March 7 at 4 p.m. against Methodist in its USA South Conference opener at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
