BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College men's tennis team (5-6) used four singles victories to push past LaGrange (6-4) by a final score of 4-3 on Sunday afternoon in non-conference action at the McCoy Tennis Complex.
Noah Boyles and Ayden Montero combined for a 6-1 doubles win at the top line, but a pair of setbacks at no. two and three doubles clinched the point for the Panthers.
BC responded with a flurry of singles wins, securing four out of six to clinch the match. Montero cruised at no. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-3, while Boyles earned a 6-2, 6-4 triumph at the no. 2 singles slot. Connor Sechrist clinched a no. 5 singles win, 6-3, 6-2, and the match was clinched by Nathan Bookout's 7-5, 6-1 triumph in no. 3 singles, securing the team win for the Tornados.
BC men's tennis is now winners of five of its last eight matches.
Brevard is back at home on Friday, March 27 for a 2 p.m. start time against Franklin at the McCoy Tennis Complex.
