Carnes and McKnight Represent BC MBB on CSC Academic All-District Team

BREVARD, N.C. – Two Brevard College men's basketball student-athletes, Jadon Carnes and Brock McKnight, were selected to represent the Tornados on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.

Carnes, a senior from Concord, N.C., and McKnight, a junior from Sparta, N.C., earn the prestigious distinction for their work in the classroom and on the court.

Carnes will graduate from BC in the Spring with a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Recreation. A four-year contributor to BC men's basketball, Carnes closed out his collegiate career with a stellar senior campaign that culminated with a USA South All-Conference First Team selection.

The forward, who averaged 34.4 minutes per game, led the Tornados in field goals made (171), field goal percentage (58.8%), free throws made (69), free throw percentage (89.6), total points (455), points per game (18.2), and offensive rebounds (31). He scored in double figures in 23 of the 25 games, and finished his career with a pair of career-high 33-point performances. For his efforts, Carnes was selected USA South Player of the Week twice in 2025-26.

Appearing in 101 total games with 95 starts in his four seasons with the Tornados, Carnes totaled 1,252 points (12.4 ppg), 501 field goals made, 116 3-pointers made, 134 free throws made, 318 rebounds, 274 assists, 56 steals, and 20 blocks. Carnes hit his field goal attempts at a BC NCAA-era record 61.4% clip, drained 41.6% of his 3-pointers, and went 85.9% at the free throw line - which is the best mark for any Tornado in the NCAA era with a minimum of 100 attempts. Carnes' 1252 career points are the third-most in Brevard's NCAA era, and his 18.2 points-per-game are the most by an individual player since BC transitioned to NCAA DIII.

McKnight finished off his third season as a Tornado in 2025-26, and is an Academic All-District selection for the second-straight year. Starting in 24 games for the first time in his career, McKnight averaged career-bests in minutes (27.2), scoring (5.7), rebounding (2.8) and assists (1.2), racking up 143 points with 69 rebounds, 31 assists, and 15 steals. McKnight is currently majoring in Physical Education and Recreation at BC.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District Men's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes men's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
