BREVARD, N.C. - Junior goalkeeper Kyla Smith-Fondall made 17 saves to eclipse 300 saves for her collegiate career, while the Brevard College women's lacrosse team (1-2) dropped a 22-3 decision to Guilford (1-3) on Tuesday evening at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
 
Smith-Fondall, in her third season with Brevard, stopped a season-high 17 shots in the effort vs. Guilford. The Baytown, Texas native currently ranks second in BC program history with 314 career stops.
 
Xan Hill paced BC's offensive with a goal and an assist, while junior Delaina Smallwood and sophomore Jordan Frenette each tallied their first collegiate goals. Arianna Casertano won a team-best five draw controls, while Smith-Fondall added four ground balls to her ledger.
 
Five Quakers scored multiple goals in the impressive offensive performance. Carm DeFeo found the back of the net five times, while Hannah McMasters scored four goals with a team-best four assists. Emma Garland led Guilford with nine draw controls as well.
 
The two sides played to a 2-2 stalemate in the first five minutes of action, with Hill scoring a free-position goal and Smallwood converting off a Hill assist. Guilford ended the first half on a 10-0 scoring run, and put together a 20-0 run to cap the win off.
 
Brevard returns to action on Saturday at 3 p.m., taking on Oglethorpe in Atlanta.
