BREVARD, N.C. - Brevard College Volleyball Assistant Coach Eric Friedt has been elevated to Recruiting Coordinator and Assistant Coach, announced Head Coach Abbie Parde.
"Coach Friedt has done a fantastic job identifying talented student-athletes who fit both our program and the culture of Brevard College Volleyball," stated Coach Parde. "His work on the recruiting trail has played a major role in building the foundation of our team, and this new role recognizes the impact he's already made and the leadership he'll continue to provide moving forward."
Finishing his second season as Assistant Coach of BC volleyball, Friedt has helped the Tornados reach the USA South Conference Tournament in each of his two seasons with BC.
"The opportunity to elevate the volleyball program in this new role is something that I am so grateful for," commented Coach Friedt. "I'm excited about the direction that we are heading and the foundation that we continue to build. We are committed to developing our student-athletes on campus while also being intentional and selective in recruiting high-character student-athletes who will continuously raise the standards of our culture and on-court performance."
In addition to his responsibilities at BC, Coach Friedt has served as a Head Volleyball Coach at Xcel Volleyball Performance in nearby Hendersonville, N.C., as well as assisting the Athletic Communications Office as its Spring Sports Information Assistant in 2025 and 2026.
Friedt arrived at Brevard College from Akron, Ohio where he was a head coach and an assistant coach for multiple Junior Olympic Girls Volleyball teams with NOVA Juniors. In addition, he served as the Head JV Girls Volleyball Coach and the Assistant Boys Volleyball Coach at Stow-Munroe Falls High School in Stow, Ohio.
Friedt has gained experience with top-flight sports organizations in Northeast Ohio. He served as an intern for Enshrinement Week in 2019 for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Also in 2019, he worked as an Annual Giving Programs Associate for the International Soap Box Derby Headquarters.
Furthermore, Friedt has served the community as a mentor at The Lebron James Family Foundation's I Promise School and as a swim instructor for the Akron Public School system.
Friedt graduated Cum Laude from the University of Akron with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Studies-Sport Management with a Minor in Business Administration. While at the University of Akron, Friedt founded the school's Men's Volleyball Club team.
