BREVARD, N.C. – Senior attacker
Gage Khayat secured a hat trick of three goals, while
Logan Southern won 15 faceoffs, but the Huntingdon Hawks (7-9, 3-5 USA South) surged past Brevard College (0-16, 0-8 USAS) in the USA South finale on Saturday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
Southern's 15 faceoff victories brings his 2026 total to 166, while Khayat pushed his goal total to 28 on the season and 78 in his collegiate career. Khayat sits at 97 career points following action on Saturday.
Southern led all Tornados with six ground balls, while
Roderick Frazier Jr. added five. Five different Tornados registered caused turnovers in the matchup.
Huntingdon overcame a slow start to surge to the 23-goal win. After just three goals in the first period, the visiting Hawks outscored Brevard 7-2 in the second quarter before shutting the Tornados out in the second half, 16-0, for the 26-3 triumph. Fourteen different Huntingdon players found the back of the net, with Hunter Rives scoring a game-high six goals and Kelcey Marston distributing three assists.
