RALEIGH, N.C. - The Brevard College softball team (12-22, 4-12 USA South) used a complete game by
Megan Bint and offensive surges in the first and seventh innings to defeat William Peace (18-18, 6-10 USAS), 7-3 in game two of a doubleheader at the Peace Softball Field.
BC overcame an 8-0 run-rule defeat in game one of the twin bill for the crucial conference W.
GAME ONE: WILLIAM PEACE 8, BREVARD 0 (6 INNINGS)
The Pacers scored early and often in game one of the doubleheader, plating three runs in a busy bottom of the first before scoring two in the bottom of the second to take a 5-0 lead. A two-run homer in the bottom of the third allowed Peace to cruise the rest of the way, holding a seven-run lead through three innings.
Peace starting pitcher Reagan Stewart was highly impressive in six innings of work, allowing just one hit without a walk or HBP, striking out 13 Tornados in 20 batters faced.
Peace capped the game off with a run-rule walk-off RBI fielder's choice in the bottom of the sixth.
GAME TWO: BREVARD 7, WILLIAM PEACE 3
BC responded in a big way, scoring four runs to kick off the second game of the day.
Rylee Locklear brought
Elizabeth Auciello in with an RBI single, followed by
Alyssa Boris' two-RBI single that scored
Andrea Furr and
Regan Winkler. Locklear came around on a wild pitch, capping the massive first frame for the Tornados.
Peace scored its first run in the bottom of the second on a sacrifice fly, but Bint and the Tornado defense held the Pacers off the board from the third to fifth frames, keeping BC on top 4-1.
After an impressive game one in the circle, Stewart came through offensively in game two with an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth that cut the deficit to a two-run margin, 4-2.
BC came through with three critical insurance runs in the top of the seventh. Locklear drove
on Analee Morris with an RBI fielder's choice, followed by Boris' RBI single.
Anna Graves capped the three-run frame off with an RBI single that plated Winkler, putting the Tornados up by four.
An error with two outs allowed the Pacers to pull within four in the bottom of the seventh, but BC recorded the final out to wrap the victory up.
Bint notched her second seven-inning complete game of the season, allowing just two earned runs in the circle. Boris led BC's offense with a 3-for-4 effort with three RBI, while Morris went 2-for-4.
The Tornados cap off the 2026 regular season at home against Pfeiffer on Saturday, April 25, in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
